 Message from the President: A Higher Standard  While watching the news as Hurricane Dean ravaged the Caribbean and the Yucatan Peninsula, I heard a quote from one of the thousands of displaced victims, "It takes more to build a house than to tear one down." For some reason, this quote resonated with me not only in the context in which it was used, but also on a more powerful level.
  Augusta Wood Preserving Success Story Shannon Thornton describes how an Augusta driver went above and beyond the call of duty to help a customer.  Summerville Fire Department Backs Dricon In following with the Cox core values, a donation was made in conjunction with Berlin G. Myers to the Summerville Fire Department. The donation made possible a replacement Dricon treated floor for their practice tower (consisting of eight strategically placed trailers). The tower these heroes used was a danger in itself without a fire ever being lit. I was amazed to see that they dealt with avoiding large burnt and rotted holes in the floor while training to save our lives.  Hurricane Prep The hurricane season affects the day-to-day focus of the Industrial Group in many ways. We have a formal storm preparedness plan but there are additional steps taken to ensure that we're ready in the event of an emergency. |
